For a young guy, he has great train knowledge. He has modeled HO and is now into O scale.
On Friday afternoons and Saturdays you can find Hobby Robby running our O scale demo system and he will teach you too! Valerie
Val loves to find new hobbyists their ideal hobby. She specializes in helping beginners and is great for ideas for school projects.
Val loves painting 1:72 and 1:35 scale figures, creating dioramas and keeping the guys at the store 'on track'. Come down and say 'HI' today! Kurtis
Don't let his age fool you, he has a passion for O scale and helps run the in store layout on Saturdays.

Rob
The 'Big Cheese' here at Chinook & Hobby West. Into model railroading, all things collectible toys and is great just to talk with about your favourite hobby.
Rob is also the one to talk to if you are selling/trading a collection. Gina
Gina is all about Diorama building, scenery and building train layouts; model kit building too. She also supervises our Ecommerce team. Come down and share your favourite tips with Gina. |
Trysch
Introducing our Store Manager, Trysch.
She specializes in creating her own RPG and other figures. She knows her paints, mediums and likes to share techniques. Tyler
Our guy for all things train & repairs. Tyler is a part of the Calgary FREE-MO group and his knowledge of trains far surpasses most men twice his age. If you need any train repairs or installs Tyler's your guy. He also doesn't mind showing new comers how to maintain their trains. (by appointment only)

Our Store
Many of our customers know of our store at 5011 MacLeod Tr. SW in Calgary, AB. We have been at this location since 1983 and we look forward to many more years here.
Over time we have adapted to meet our customers changing needs and now is no different. At Chinook & Hobby West you can find many unique and value priced items from Estes Rockets and Star Wars and collectible toys to discontinued, current and new model railroading items (N, HO & O) and plastic model kits (Revell, AMT, Tamiya & Trumpeter to name a few). Also, we carry diecast (American Muscle, Hot Wheels, etc.), 12" and 3 3/4" action figures (Hasbro, Playmate, Barbie, etc.), plus a full range of paint, tools and more. |
